About

A simple Boglehead-style buy‑and‑hold: 70% U.S. stocks (VTI), 20% international stocks (VXUS), 10% short‑term T‑bills (BIL). Broad, low‑cost diversification with little trading; risk and returns come mainly from the stock market.
NutHow it works
Put 70% in VTI (owns almost every U.S. company stock), 20% in VXUS (stocks outside the U.S.), and 10% in BIL (very short‑term U.S. Treasury bills, a cash‑like buffer). Then hold it. No timing or trading rules; no scheduled rebalancing. Stocks drive growth; the T‑bill slice softens drops a bit and earns short‑term interest. Together they cover most global sectors.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample Sharpe 1.34 vs SPY 1.16, drawdown 16% vs 19%, Calmar 1.28; ~20% annual return. A simple 70/20/10 global equity blend beats the S&P on risk-adjusted terms with lower downside for long-horizon investors.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
