About

A fast, tactical strategy: ride tech‑led uptrends with 3x funds, hedge overheated spikes with UVXY, buy sharp dips in tech/semis, and park in T‑Bills or rotate to bonds/gold/energy when risk rises—guided by simple “heat,” trend, and volatility checks.
NutHow it works
It splits the portfolio into a trend core and a fast “pops” overlay. - Trend: when short‑term price is above longer‑term, it rides uptrends with 3x bulls (SPXL/TQQQ/UDOW). If not, it holds the un‑levered index or T‑Bills (BIL). - Pops: watches “heat” (RSI = 0–100 gauge of recent gains/losses). Very hot → hedge with UVXY (fear ETF). Very cold after a drop → buy dips in tech/semis (TECL/SOXL). It also uses volatility (VIXY), Tech vs Staples (XLK vs XLP) and bond cues (TMF/TMV, BND vs SPY) to decide when to sit in T‑Bills or briefly hold gold (UGL) or energy (ERX). Key ETFs: TECL=3x Tech, SOXL=3x Semis, SPXL=3x S&P, TQQQ=3x Nasdaq, UVXY=spikes on fear, SVXY=benefits when fear fades, BIL=T‑Bills, TMF/TMV=long/short long Treasuries, UGL=gold.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 50.8% annualized return vs SPY’s 33.7%, with Calmar ~2.47 signaling strong risk-adjusted upside. Tactical hedges (UVXY) and risk-driven shifts to bonds/gold mitigate spikes, though max drawdown is higher (~20.6% vs ~5.1%).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
