About

A short-term “roller coaster” that flips between 3x bull/bear China and EM ETFs using recent China moves, dollar strength, and a simple overbought/oversold gauge. Often fades extremes; if conditions aren’t favorable, it parks in EEM. High risk.
NutHow it works
It swing-trades China and emerging markets using 3x ETFs: YINN/YANG (China up/down) and EDC/EDZ (EM up/down). It looks at: FXI (China) 1–5 day moves, UUP (US dollar) trend, and RSI (a simple “too hot/too cold” gauge). After big 5‑day surges/drops in China, it often bets against yesterday’s move. Otherwise: strong dollar → usually bets against EM/China unless bears look overbought; weak dollar → follows China’s trend; no trend → holds EEM. Very volatile.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return ~49.7% vs SPY ~33.7%, with solid risk-adjusted profile (Calmar ~2.05) and modest market beta (~0.51). Levered EM/China swings bring higher drawdowns, but offer stronger upside and diversification in growth cycles.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
