A fast-moving, high-risk strategy that rotates among leveraged US stock funds, long-term bonds, cash-like T-bills, and sometimes a bearish semiconductor fund based on market strength, volatility, and dip-buying rules.

This strategy is an aggressive market timer. Most of the time it decides whether to own extra-strong versions of the S&P 500 (UPRO) or Nasdaq-100 (TQQQ), sometimes mixed with long-term Treasury bonds (TMF). It checks whether the market looks calm, strong, weak, overheated, or sharply beaten down. In rough markets it often hides in short-term Treasury bills (BIL). After big drops, it may buy the dip. When tech looks extremely overheated, part of the strategy can bet against semiconductor stocks with SOXS.

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
