About

A 50/50 blend of a hedged trend follower and a buy‑the‑dip surfer. It rides tech‑led markets (often with 3× ETFs) when trends are healthy, and shifts to volatility, dollar/gold, or Treasuries when markets overheat or break down.
NutHow it works
Split money 50/50: (1) Total Market Hedged, (2) Fund Surfing. (1) Watches the big trend (200‑day avg) and a “hot/cold” meter called RSI (0–100; >70 hot, <30 cold). In healthy uptrends it rides Nasdaq (QQQ/TQQQ). If things look overheated or plunge fast, it hedges with UVXY (volatility) or a defensive mix of UUP (US dollar) + GLD (gold). In downtrends it can use SQQQ (short Nasdaq). (2) When volatility is calm, it “buys the dip” in QQQ/SPY (S&P 500) or 3× versions (UPRO, TQQQ, TECL, SOXL). When volatility spikes, it flips to long/short long‑Treasuries (TMF/TMV) or SPY.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers ~46% annualized returns vs ~22% for the S&P, with a solid Sharpe (~1.17) and tech exposure. Hedging aims to tame drawdowns, offering higher upside potential while managing risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
