A daily market-timing strategy that blends cautious dip-buying in leveraged U.S. stock funds with a fallback to gold, the dollar, staples, and sometimes long-term Treasury leverage when conditions look safer.

This strategy splits money into two halves and checks the market every day. One half buys a 3x S&P 500 fund only when the market looks calm and washed out; otherwise it hides in a defensive mix of the U.S. dollar, gold, and consumer-staples stocks. The other half changes by market regime: in rough markets it buys sharp dips in the Nasdaq or S&P 500, and in healthier markets it holds a growth mix of 3x stock funds plus 3x long-term Treasury bonds. If conditions worsen, it moves back to the same defensive mix.

Out-of-sample: ~34% annualized vs 21% S&P, with Calmar ~1.03 and positive alpha. A regime-switching, leveraged strategy that seeks higher upside while rotating to defensive assets in risk—note drawdowns can be larger in downturns.
