About
A tactical Bitcoin strategy: when the trend is strong, own the three strongest crypto‑linked names; when the trend is weak or jumpy, switch between shorting Bitcoin (BITI), parking in the U.S. dollar (UUP), or brief rotations in crypto stocks.
1) Trend check: compare a fast and a slow average of BITO (a Bitcoin ETF). If fast > slow, trend is up; else down.
Uptrend: buy the 3 best performers (last ~21 days) from BITO, Coinbase (COIN), and four Bitcoin miners (MARA, HUT, BITF, RIOT), equal‑weighted.
Down/choppy: use momentum (RSI—a simple “heat” gauge), recent jumps, and choppiness to either short Bitcoin (via BITI), park in the U.S. dollar (UUP), or occasionally rotate into strong/weak crypto names. Trades only when weights drift ~5%.
Out-of-sample edge: 22.32% annualized return vs S&P 20.16%, oos Sharpe ~0.64. Captures BTC momentum and hedges with BITI/UUP for diversification and higher upside. Caution: drawdowns near 69%.
