About

A tactical Bitcoin strategy that rotates among Bitcoin exposure (BITO and related stocks), short Bitcoin (BITI), and the US dollar fund (UUP), using trend, momentum, and “overheated” signals to ride uptrends and play defense in down or choppy markets.
NutHow it works
First, it checks Bitcoin’s trend using BITO’s 45‑day vs 100‑day average price. If trend is up, it buys the 3 strongest names among BITO, Coinbase (COIN), and Bitcoin miners (equal weight). If trend is weak, it uses RSI (a 0–100 “heat” score), recent moves, and choppiness to switch between short Bitcoin (BITI), the US dollar fund (UUP), or a small crypto basket.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample return ~20.21% vs S&P ~20.12%; beta ~0.83; Calmar ~0.29; Sharpe ~0.62. Trend-driven crypto tilt plus BITI/UUP hedges offer risk-adjusted upside and defense in volatile markets.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
