About
A very active strategy that chases strong stock trends—especially tech—but quickly hides in volatility hedges, bearish funds, bonds, gold, or cash when markets look overheated or dangerous.
This strategy is a daily market-timer. It mostly hunts for gains in fast-moving U.S. stock areas like tech, but keeps checking whether markets look too hot, too weak, or too scary.
If stocks look strong, it may buy aggressive funds tied to the Nasdaq, S&P 500, semiconductors, or sectors. If markets look overheated, it often moves into fear hedges, bearish funds, Treasury bonds, gold, or cash-like T-bills.
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers superior risk-adjusted performance: Sharpe 3.39 vs 1.13, Calmar 8.86, and max drawdown 0.53% vs SPY’s ~8.89%. Raw returns may lag, but far stronger downside protection beats the S&P 500 on risk.
