About
A 3-stock strategy that uses SPY as a market health check: in weak markets it hides in steadier stocks, and in strong markets it chases the most energetic names.
This strategy first checks the overall U.S. stock market using SPY, a fund that tracks the S&P 500.
If SPY looks weak (its current price is below its 100-day average), it picks the 3 stocks from its watchlist that have had the smallest recent drops.
If SPY looks healthy, it picks the 3 stocks that have been moving around the most lately, aiming for stronger upside. It then splits money equally among those 3 stocks.
Regime-driven 3-stock strategy uses SPY to gauge strength, chasing momentum in strong markets and steadier names in weakness. Out-of-sample: ~17.7% annualized return, beta ~1.23, Sharpe ~0.67, Calmar ~0.50—diversification beyond the S&P 500.
