About

Mostly sits in T‑bills (BIL). When junk bonds (JNK) are trending but not overheated—or extremely washed out—it shifts to a 1/3 JNK, 1/3 TIP, 1/3 BIL mix to add some return without taking big risks.
NutHow it works
Daily, it uses JNK (a junk‑bond fund) as a risk gauge. If JNK is above its 20‑day average (uptrend) and not too “hot,” it holds an equal mix of JNK, TIP (inflation‑linked Treasurys), and BIL (T‑bills). If JNK is “very hot” (RSI>80) or in a downtrend, it stays in BIL—except if it’s “very cold” (RSI<15), when it uses the same 1/3 mix. RSI (0–100) = how hot/cold recent moves are. JNK is chosen as a broad risk barometer.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy delivers top risk-adjusted gains with minimal drawdowns: Sharpe 2.64 vs 0.92, Calmar 6.87, max drawdown ~0.7% vs ~18.8%, beta near zero, plus inflation/cash ballast. Safer, steadier growth than the S&P.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
