About

Aggressive, daily tactical strategy that buys leveraged stock funds in uptrends and bounces, and shifts to Treasuries, dollar, gold or volatility when risk rises. Uses a panic switch (VIX), a hot/cold test (RSI), and long‑term trend checks.
NutHow it works
Daily rules switch risk-on/off. - Panic: if the fear gauge (VIX) spikes, park in short‑term Treasuries. - Hot/cold test (RSI): very cold (RSI<30) → buy 3x S&P/Nasdaq/semis for bounces; too hot (RSI>80) → buy VIX (UVXY). - Core trend (100–600 days): if stocks beat commodities and trend is up, hold leveraged tech/healthcare/utilities and short‑vol; otherwise pivot to Treasuries, the US dollar, and gold. Positions favor calmer assets.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~23.7% annualized return vs ~21.1% S&P, with Calmar ~1.13 and Sharpe ~1.29. Higher upside with hedges (treasuries, gold, VIX); note larger drawdowns (~21%).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
