About

A fast, rules‑based trader that buys tech/semis on up‑trend dips, sells/hedges when markets get “too hot,” and goes defensive (cash, volatility, bonds, gold, or shorts) in downtrends. Uses KMLM (managed futures) as a macro check to tilt offense vs defense.
NutHow it works
Think of a stoplight. Green: when markets trend up and aren’t stretched, it buys growth (often via leveraged tech/semis like TQQQ, TECL, SOXL). Yellow: if prices look “stretched” (RSI—how fast price ran—high), it cuts risk or adds volatility “insurance” (UVXY/VIXY). Red: in downtrends or spiking volatility it flips to cash/T‑Bills (BIL/SHV), defensive funds (BTAL), bond trades (TMF/TMV), gold (UGL/GLL), or even short funds (SQQQ/SOXS). It also checks KMLM (a managed‑futures ETF) as a macro barometer; if KMLM outperforms tech, it favors defense. Constant 200‑day trend and short‑term checks decide which lane it’s in.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample Sharpe ~6.96 vs SPY ~4.45; oos drawdown ~1.42% vs 1.97%. Higher oos return with built-in volatility hedges, macro trend checks, and dynamic risk-on/off tilts—delivering steadier, risk‑managed growth vs the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
