About

Daily switches between 2x Nasdaq (QLD) and short‑term Treasuries (SHY) using simple trend, “too hot/too cold,” and volatility checks. Aim: ride uptrends, sidestep rough patches, and beat SPY with smaller drawdowns.
NutHow it works
Each day it checks trend and “heat.” If the S&P 500’s short‑term average is above its long‑term average (uptrend), it holds a 2x Nasdaq fund (QLD) unless the Nasdaq looks too hot or jumpy—then it parks in short‑term Treasuries (SHY). In downtrends it mostly sits in SHY, only taking brief QLD trades when the Nasdaq is extremely oversold or very short‑term trend flips up. Signals use QQQ (cleaner) to decide when to hold QLD.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe ≈1.33 vs SPY ≈1.10; annualized return ≈56% vs ≈19%; Calmar ≈1.55. A daily, regime-driven switch between QLD and SHY aims to ride uptrends and beat the S&P with stronger risk-adjusted growth.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
