About

Rules-based mix: 75% shifts among stocks, bonds, gold, dollar, and oil for defense; 25% chases tech uptrends with leveraged ETFs and hedges when overheated or weak. Uses trend, overbought/oversold, and recent-drop signals.
NutHow it works
The portfolio splits 75% defensive + 25% aggressive tech. It flips between risk-on/off using: long‑term trend (200‑day avg), short‑term “hot/cold” (RSI), size of recent drops, and oil’s 1‑mo move. Risk‑on: S&P (SSO) + some long Treasuries (TMF). Risk‑off: short Treasuries (SHY/BSV/VTIP), gold (GLD), US$ (UUP). The aggressive sleeve rides tech (TQQQ/TECL/SOXL) and may hedge with inverse (SQQQ) or volatility (UVXY) when overheated.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: strong risk-adjusted returns (high Calmar, solid Sharpe) from a 75/25 defensive/tech mix. Captures tech upside with hedges and diversification—capital protection and better risk-adjusted appeal vs. the S&P.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
