This strategy first asks: is the market unusually shaky, deeply sold off, or overheated? If yes, it moves into special short-term baskets built for safety, rebounds, or cooling-off periods. If no, it checks whether growth stocks are leading defensive utilities, and whether corporate bonds are stronger than cash. Those two tests place it in one of four market moods, then it buys a diversified mix matched to that mood.
