This strategy is a very active market-timer. It checks whether US stocks, especially tech, look strong, weak, overheated, or washed out. When conditions look good, it buys aggressive stock funds—often leveraged ones tied to the S&P 500, Nasdaq, technology, and semiconductors. When conditions look dangerous, it rotates into safer or defensive holdings like Treasury bonds, gold, the US dollar, short-term cash-like funds, defensive stock sectors, or even funds that rise when stocks fall. It combines several versions of this logic so it is not relying on just one signal.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
