About

A daily, rules‑based portfolio that rides trends in stocks, bonds and commodities, buys tech on dips, and uses VIX‑based hedges and Treasuries to cut risk in selloffs. It rotates across sectors and assets as conditions change, aiming to capture upside while limiting deep drawdowns.
NutHow it works
Each day it checks trend (price vs a long average) and “hot/cold” readings (RSI, a 0–100 gauge). In uptrends it owns U.S. stocks—especially tech/semis—sometimes with leverage (e.g., TQQQ). If markets look overheated it hedges or shorts (fear funds UVXY/VIXY, defensive BTAL/cash). If washed out it buys dips. It also rotates into Treasuries, gold, oil, the U.S. dollar, and emerging markets when they trend. KMLM (a managed‑futures fund) acts as a regime compass.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets strong risk-adjusted returns (18.2% annualized, Calmar ~2) with diversified cross-asset exposure and built-in hedges—providing diversification and regime-aware risk management versus the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
