This strategy looks only at 17 very large U.S. companies, such as Microsoft, Apple, Nvidia, Amazon, Google, JPMorgan, Exxon, and Costco. It splits the portfolio in two: one half goes to the 5 stocks that gained the most over the past year, and the other half goes to the 5 stocks that had the smallest worst drop during the past year. In simple terms, it mixes recent winners with steadier stocks.
