A symphony is an automated trading strategy — Learn more about symphonies here

About

Own a concentrated mega‑cap tech/semis basket when markets trend up. When they weaken, quickly rotate into aggressive long/short NASDAQ, inverse S&P, bonds, or cash using short‑term signals. Very active and high risk.
NutHow it works
First, it checks if the market is in a long-term uptrend (S&P 500 above its 200‑day average). If yes, it owns a concentrated basket of mega‑cap tech and semiconductor leaders (plus QQQ). If no, it switches to a fast, defensive sleeve that flips among funds that magnify or bet against the NASDAQ‑100, inverse S&P, Treasuries, or cash, using short‑term “speedometers” (like a 0–100 buying/selling gauge) and trend lines.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 28.7% annualized return, Sharpe ~1.15, Calmar ~1.18 vs SPY 17.9% and ~1.01 Sharpe. Trend-following growth in up markets, rapid hedges in down markets; higher drawdown (~24%).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
