About

Switches between a concentrated big‑tech/growth basket and an inverse S&P 500 ETF (SH) using simple trend checks on the S&P 500 and short-term tech weakness. Aims to ride uptrends and hedge when trends weaken.
NutHow it works
1) Check SPY (S&P 500 ETF) vs its 200-day average price (average of the last 200 days). If above: Risk-On. If below: Risk-Off. Risk-On: if SPY falls under its 150-day average, hold SH (an ETF that rises when the S&P 500 falls); otherwise hold a concentrated big-tech/growth basket (e.g., NVIDIA, Microsoft, Amazon, Meta, Alphabet, plus QQQ). Risk-Off: if tech (XLK) dropped over 2% in 10 days or SPY is under its 5-day average, hold that same growth basket; otherwise use SH.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample: ~17.5% annualized return, Calmar ~0.93, max drawdown ~18.7%—vs SPY: ~19.2% return with similar risk. Tech-growth tilt plus SH hedge targets upside while dampening losses for better risk-adjusted results.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
