About

A weekly, tactical “offense + defense” mix: ride Nasdaq/S&P uptrends, buy sharp dips, and hedge stress with inverse ETFs, T‑bills/short‑term bonds, and VIX exposure. Tech‑tilted, can go partially short, and aims to smooth the ride.
NutHow it works
Weekly, it splits the portfolio into offense and defense. It reads trend (200‑day average = long‑term trend line) and “heat” (RSI, a 0–100 too‑hot/too‑cold gauge). Offense: QQQ (Nasdaq‑100) or ARTY in uptrends; if QQQ is too hot, hedge with PSQ (short QQQ). In downtrends, buy oversold bounces with QLD (2× QQQ) or SPY (S&P 500), else mix PSQ/SH (short S&P) with SHY/BSV. Defense adds VIXY (volatility) or T‑bills (BIL) when stress rises.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample strength: Calmar 6.33, max drawdown ~5%, Sharpe ~2.80. Near SPY on risk-adjusted terms with a smoother ride and lower downside, while pursuing robust long-term returns (~31.6% vs SPY 38.6%).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
