About
A mostly-Apple strategy that uses market trend checks to sidestep major downturns, sometimes shifting into big-tech, an inverse tech fund, or short-term bonds when conditions look risky.
Most of the time, this strategy simply owns Apple.
But first it asks: “Does the overall U.S. stock market still look healthy?” It judges that by comparing the recent trend of the S&P 500 (SPY) with its long-term trend.
If the market looks healthy, it buys Apple (AAPL).
If the market looks weak, it checks the big-tech market (QQQ). If tech has been hit very hard very quickly, it buys QQQ instead, expecting a rebound.
If not, and tech still looks weak, it moves to defense: either PSQ, which rises when big tech falls, or BSV, a short-term bond fund that is usually steadier.
If tech weakness seems to be easing, it goes back to Apple.
Out-of-sample edge: ~27.5% annualized vs ~17.4% S&P, Sharpe ~1.09, Calmar ~1.26, beta ~0.64. 1513 days tested. Apple-led with tech hedges aims for higher upside and stronger risk-adjusted returns than the S&P.
