About

A daily, contrarian switch: fade extreme strength by buying VIXY; buy the dip with 2–3x index/sector bull ETFs on extreme weakness; otherwise sit in T‑bills. Uses a 10‑day RSI across SPY/QQQ/DIA and S&P sectors. High risk from leverage/volatility.
NutHow it works
Each day it checks how stretched prices were over the last 10 days (RSI). If the S&P 500, Nasdaq, Dow, or any big sector looks extremely hot (RSI ~80+), it moves 100% into VIXY (a volatility hedge) expecting a pullback. If any look washed out (RSI ~30−), it buys a 2–3x bull ETF for that area (e.g., UPRO/TQQQ/sector bulls). If nothing is extreme, it holds T‑bills (BIL).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, the strategy targets ~21% annualized return vs ~18% for the S&P, using RSI-driven contrarian bets: hedge spikes with VIXY and buy 2–3x bulls on dips, else cash. Expect higher drawdowns (~31.6% vs ~18.8%), but Calmar ~0.67 and Sharpe ~0.66.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
