This strategy is a manager of other trading systems. It first looks for the calmer, lower-volatility systems, then buys the 3 with the best recent performance. Inside those systems, the rules constantly ask: are stocks rising, falling, too overheated, or in panic? Based on that, money shifts between U.S. stocks, foreign stocks, bonds, gold, energy, cash-like Treasury funds, and volatility hedges.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers.
