This strategy splits money into two equal parts and checks a small set of market rules. In strong markets, it mainly owns growth and tech funds like QQQ, SPYG, and XLK. In weaker markets, it can move into safer bond funds or even funds that rise when stocks fall, such as SH or PSQ. It uses trend checks and short-term “oversold” signals to decide when to lean into tech, get defensive, or bet against the market.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
