About
An aggressive trading strategy that quickly flips between leveraged stock funds, volatility bets, and defensive alternatives based on whether the market looks overheated, oversold, calm, or fearful.
This strategy is a fast-switching market “mood reader.” First, it checks whether parts of the stock market look overheated using RSI, a score from 0 to 100 that measures how aggressively prices have risen or fallen lately. Very high RSI means “things may have gone up too far, too fast.”
If several stock indexes or sectors look too hot, it jumps into UVXY, a very aggressive fund that tends to rise when market fear spikes.
If fear is already elevated, it uses a smaller fallback rule to choose either VIXM (another volatility fund) or SPXL (a 3x bullish S&P 500 fund).
If markets are not in panic mode, it looks for short-term selloffs in aggressive stock funds like TQQQ, SOXL, or SPXL and tries to buy the dip through TECL, SOXL, or SPXL.
If there is no obvious dip to buy, it compares technology stocks with KMLM. KMLM is a managed-futures fund that follows price trends across things like commodities, currencies, and interest rates. In plain English, it is often used as a “different kind of bet” that may do better when regular stocks are struggling.
If technology is acting stronger than KMLM, the strategy takes a swing at either TECL or SVIX, choosing whichever looks more temporarily beaten down. SVIX benefits when market volatility cools off.
If technology is not stronger than KMLM, the strategy becomes more defensive and spreads money across 3 calmer picks chosen from a mixed basket that includes Treasury funds, volatility funds, a long/short stock fund, KMLM, and the U.S. dollar fund UUP.
Out-of-sample Sharpe 1.28 vs 1.06, Calmar 3.19, annualized return 87.7% vs 17.2% for SPY. A dynamic, mood-reading approach that shifts between risk-on and hedges to aim for superior risk-adjusted returns vs the S&P (with higher drawdowns).
