About
A market-timing strategy that stays in cash-like T-bills during weak markets, holds SPY in normal uptrends, and uses risky leveraged bets when the market becomes especially strong.
This strategy first asks: is the U.S. stock market in a healthy long-term uptrend? If not, it moves to very short-term Treasury bills (BIL).
If yes, it checks whether the market has been unusually strong lately. If not, it simply holds SPY, a fund tracking the S&P 500.
If the market has been very strong, it looks at big tech stocks for a short-term clue: a small pullback triggers an aggressive bet on tech (TQQQ). Otherwise, it splits between two crash-sensitive funds, TZA and UVXY.
Regime-driven strategy targets near-SPY returns (~17.1%/yr) with low beta (~0.34) and cash hedges. It diversifies risk vs. SPY by moving to safer assets in weak markets and using leverage in strong regimes, though stress periods may see bigger drawdowns.
