This strategy mostly trades the semiconductor sector. It watches a chip-stock fund (SMH) to see if the sector has moved too far, too fast. If chip stocks look beaten down, it often buys a leveraged bullish fund (SOXL). If they look overheated, it often buys a leveraged bearish fund (SOXS). It also checks overall market stress using volatility funds and may hide in short-term bonds, the U.S. dollar, or volatility hedges when conditions look dangerous.
