About

A daily rule-based system that selects the top 2 Nasdaq/large-cap stocks with strongest momentum, using RSI and moving-average signals, and holds cash-like Treasuries when signals are weak; rebalances daily.
NutHow it works
- The universe: a set of large U.S. stocks (e.g., AAPL, MSFT, GOOGL, TSLA, META, NVDA, AMZN, COST, PEP) plus market proxies. - For each stock, compute momentum and trend signals using RSI (a momentum gauge) and moving averages (price vs trend lines). - A stock is considered only if it clears several gates (RSI not in extreme overbought territory and price is comfortably above a moving average, indicating an uptrend). - Among all stocks that pass, rank them by cumulative return over the last 20 trading days and pick the top 2. - Allocate equal weight to those two stocks. - If no stock passes the gates, shift to cash-like safety via SHV, IEI, and BIL in equal measure. - Rebalance normally on a daily basis. - The approach is a modified version (PKD Modified) of a Nasdaq-top-name strategy, with nested checks and a cash reserve to manage drawdown in weaker markets.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: daily top-two momentum picks deliver ~56% annualized return vs SPY ~18%, Sharpe ~2.08 vs ~1.01, and max drawdown ~9.8% vs ~18.8%, with cash-hedged safety when signals weaken.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
