If transportation is stronger than the overall U.S. market, it gets more aggressive and often buys technology-heavy funds like TQQQ or TECL. If transportation is weaker, or if markets look too hot, too weak, or too volatile, it shifts into safer or defensive holdings like Treasury-bill funds, Treasury bonds, gold, volatility funds, or funds that rise when stocks fall.
