About
A high-risk market-timing strategy that uses 3x leveraged stock funds in uptrends, buys sharp dips, and can switch to shorting tech or parking in short-term Treasuries when conditions worsen.
The strategy first asks: is the broad U.S. stock market rising or falling? If the S&P 500 is above its 200-day average, it goes aggressively bullish: 50% in TECL (3x tech) and 50% in UPRO (3x S&P 500).
If not, it looks for a sharp recent selloff and may buy the dip in tech or the broad market. If weakness continues, it may either hide in SHY (short-term Treasuries) or bet against tech with SQQQ.
Out-of-sample edge: ~69.5% annual return vs ~21.3% for the S&P, Calmar ~1.40, Sharpe ~1.19. Leverages uptrends while adding dip defenses—larger upside, but with bigger drawdowns; suited for risk-tolerant investors.
