About
A cautious market-timing strategy that tries to own strong stocks in good times, but quickly moves into bonds, cash, gold, or bearish Nasdaq positions when markets look overheated or weak.
This strategy constantly checks whether the stock market looks overheated, healthy, or weak.
If stocks have risen too fast, it shifts toward cash-like Treasury bills (BIL) and a fund that goes up when the Nasdaq falls (PSQ). If the market is strong but not overheated, it may hold a small gold position or own a basket of sturdy stocks like Apple, Costco, Lilly, Novo Nordisk, and Coca-Cola Consolidated. In weaker markets, it rotates among bonds, cash, and bearish Nasdaq funds.
Out-of-sample edge: Sharpe 1.19 vs S&P 1.06; annualized return ~18% vs ~17.23%; max drawdown ~9.4% vs ~18.8%; Calmar ~1.92—stronger risk-adjusted growth and downside protection than the S&P 500.
