About

A simple daily trend rule: if the S&P 500 is in an uptrend, hold growth (TQQQ), small‑value (AVUV), gold (GLD) and leveraged long bonds (TMF). If not, switch to gold and long Treasuries (TLT) to cut stock risk.
NutHow it works
Each day, it checks if the S&P 500 fund (SPY) is above its 200‑day average (average price over ~10 months). If yes: hold 10% AVUV (U.S. small cheap stocks), 23.34% TQQQ (3× Nasdaq‑100), 33.33% TMF (3× long U.S. Treasuries), 33.33% GLD (gold). If no: 50% GLD, 50% TLT (long U.S. Treasuries). Rebalances daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return ~55% vs S&P ~36%, with strong risk-adjusted metrics (Calmar ~6.8) and a diversified, regime-based mix that captures uptrends (levered tech, value, gold) and hedges downturns with bonds. Leverage can raise drawdown risk.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
