About

Own Bitcoin (via BITO) when its recent price is above its long‑term average; otherwise hold a defensive mix of Treasuries, gold, and silver. Checks daily and switches as needed.
NutHow it works
Each trading day it checks BITO’s trend. BITO is a Bitcoin futures ETF (gives Bitcoin exposure via CME futures). If the short‑term average price (last 5 days) is above the long‑term average (last 100 days), it puts 100% in BITO. Otherwise it splits evenly among IEF (7–10yr U.S. Treasury bonds), TLT (20+yr Treasuries), GLD (gold), and SLV (silver). A “moving average” is the average closing price over a set number of days.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~41% annualized return, Calmar 1.45, Sharpe ~1.06, beta ~0.51. BITO upside with risk-off diversification in Treasuries/gold/silver. Higher upside vs SPY, but drawdowns may be larger (~28%).

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
