About
A market-timing strategy that usually owns world stocks, shifts to gold in weaker markets, buys a fear trade after extreme rallies, and buys leveraged tech after sharp selloffs.
This strategy is all-in on just one investment at a time and checks the market every day.
• If tech stocks have run up too fast, it buys VIXY, a fund that tends to rise when market fear jumps.
• If tech stocks have fallen too fast, it buys QLD, a 2x bet on a Nasdaq rebound.
• Otherwise, it usually owns VT (stocks from around the world).
• But if the U.S. market looks weak and tech is also slipping, it switches to GLD (gold).
Out-of-sample return 25.4% vs 22.1% for the S&P, with Calmar 2.29 and Sharpe 1.43. Global-equity core plus tactical hedges (gold, volatility) and selective leverage aim for stronger risk-adjusted upside—accept higher drawdowns than the S&P.
