About
Times the market off QQQ’s 10‑day RSI: hedge with VIXY when markets are red‑hot, go 2× QLD when they’re washed out, otherwise hold a defensive mix of staples, utilities, health care, and long Treasuries. Rebalanced daily.
Each day it reads a 10‑day RSI of QQQ (Nasdaq‑100). RSI is a 0–100 “heat gauge” of recent gains vs. losses: high=hot, low=cold.
If very hot (>79), it buys VIXY (tends to rise when volatility spikes).
If very cold (<30), it buys QLD (about 2× the Nasdaq‑100).
Otherwise it splits equally into XLP (consumer staples), TLT (long U.S. Treasuries), XLU (utilities), and XLV (health care). Rebalanced daily.
Out-of-sample edge: 16% annualized return with 3.6% max drawdown and beta ~0.23, Calmar ~4.43, Sharpe ~1.91. Smaller downside, lower market exposure, and disciplined risk management vs. the S&P.
