This is a ‘strategy of strategies.’ It checks many fast-moving mini-systems, most of them focused on tech, semiconductors, the S&P 500, bonds, and hedges. It then picks 2 that currently look most out of favor. Inside those mini-systems, it buys aggressive funds when markets look weak-but-recovering, and shifts to bearish funds, bonds, cash, gold, or volatility hedges when markets look overheated, falling, or hurt by rising rates.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
