About
An aggressive, rules-based switcher: rides leveraged stocks (UPRO/SOXL) in uptrends with a staples tilt, flips to volatility (UVXY) when markets look overheated, and shifts to T‑Bills, gold, and Treasuries in downtrends, with small safety sleeves always on.
Step 1: Trend. If S&P 500 (SPY) is above its 200‑day average = bull; else bear. RSI is a 0–100 heat gauge of recent moves: high=overheated, low=washed‑out.
Bull: mostly 3x S&P (UPRO) plus ~22% Consumer Staples (XLP). After fear spikes (UVXY hot) it may buy 3x semis (SOXL). When stocks look overheated, it flips to UVXY or T‑Bills (BIL).
Bear: mainly BIL, Gold (GLD) and long Treasuries (TLT); may use UVXY on sharp rallies, or nibble UPRO only on extreme selloffs.
Tickers: SPY=S&P 500; XLP=Staples; UPRO=3x S&P; SOXL=3x semis; UVXY=volatility; BIL=T‑Bills; GLD=Gold; TLT=long Treas.
Out-of-sample, this strategy targets a higher upside than the S&P 500: ~73% annualized return with a Calmar near 7.0. Drawdowns can be larger, but the risk-adjusted edge and systematic hedging drive superior long-term growth.
