An aggressive market-timing strategy that pushes into leveraged U.S. stocks in good times, but shifts toward volatility hedges, cash-like T-bills, bonds, and gold when markets look overheated or weak.

This strategy first asks: is the U.S. stock market in a healthy long-term uptrend? If yes, it usually holds a very aggressive S&P 500 fund plus a smaller stake in defensive consumer-staples stocks. If the market looks overheated or panicky, it switches part of the portfolio into a volatility fund, cash-like T-bills, or occasionally semiconductor stocks for a rebound trade. If the market is in a long-term downtrend, it becomes much more defensive, favoring T-bills, Treasury bonds, and gold, while still using the volatility fund during stress.

Out-of-sample, this adaptive regime strategy seeks higher returns with disciplined risk. Expect ~30.5% annualized vs ~29.9% for the S&P 500, plus a solid risk-adjusted profile (Calmar ~1.06). Note: drawdowns can be larger in stress.
