This strategy asks two simple questions: Are big U.S. growth stocks falling hard? And are long-term Treasury bonds acting unusually badly? If either answer is yes, it shifts toward a more defensive mix that can include gold and the U.S. dollar. If both are calm, it leans into a growth mix of leveraged funds tied to tech stocks, financial companies, and long-term Treasuries. It gives bigger weights to the assets that have been less jumpy lately.

Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers.
