About

A rules-based swing strategy that uses a 200‑day trend filter and RSI to toggle between leveraged U.S. stocks (S&P 500, Nasdaq, semis), volatility hedges (UVXY), and defensives (staples, gold, T‑bills), aiming to ride uptrends, hedge spikes, and buy deep dips.
NutHow it works
Step 1: Decide bull or bear by S&P 500 (SPY) vs its 200‑day average. Step 2: Use RSI (a 0–100 heat meter of recent moves: high=hot, low=cold) on SPY/QQQ (Nasdaq‑100) and UVXY (fear/volatility) to switch among: leveraged stock funds (UPRO/SSO, QLD; sometimes SOXL semis) when trends look good or after sharp drops; UVXY or cash (BIL) when overheated; plus small slices in staples (XLP), gold (GLD), and sometimes long Treasuries (TLT). In bears it may short tech (QID).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this regime-aware strategy targets ~50% annualized returns vs ~31% for the S&P 500, with a Calmar ~2.19—strong risk-adjusted upside, hedges, and diversifiers. Higher upside, but expect larger drawdowns in choppy markets.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
