About

A daily, tactical QQQ strategy: buy Nasdaq-100 on dips in uptrends; hedge or switch to volatility, Treasuries, or cash when markets look overheated or risky. Uses SPY’s 200-day trend, RSI “heat,” VIX signals, and a KMLM macro trend filter.
NutHow it works
Each day it checks trend and “heat.” Trend: is SPY above its 200‑day average (uptrend) or below (downtrend)? Heat: RSI (a 0–100 speed/heat score; high=hot, low=washed‑out). In uptrends it buys QQQ (Nasdaq‑100) on dips and, when things look too hot, briefly buys “fear” funds (UVXY/VXX/VIXM) that jump when volatility spikes. In downtrends it prefers cash/T‑bills (BIL) or PSQ (short QQQ). A KMLM trend cue (a managed‑futures fund) adds a macro risk filter; Treasuries (TLT), USMV/BTAL, or gold can hedge.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, this dynamic Nasdaq-100 strategy delivers 18.31% annualized returns with 7.86% max drawdown and a 2.33 Calmar ratio. It captures upside in uptrends while hedging with volatility, Treasuries, and cash—lower drawdowns and steadier risk than a pure S&P bet.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
