This strategy is an aggressive market-timer. It checks whether the market—especially tech and chip stocks—has run up too fast or fallen too hard. If prices look stretched upward, it may bet on a drop or on rising fear using volatility funds. If prices look washed out, it often buys leveraged tech or semiconductor funds for a rebound. It also watches bond-market signals to decide whether to stay aggressive or shift defensive.
