About

A very aggressive trading strategy that mostly bets on semiconductor stocks, but quickly shifts into gold, cash, commodities, or bearish funds when the market looks overheated or risky.
NutHow it works
This strategy is an aggressive market-timing system. Most of the time it tries to ride semiconductor stocks using SOXL, a fund that moves about 3x as much as chip stocks. When the market looks too hot, too weak, or too risky, it can switch into the opposite semiconductor bet (SOXS), gold (UGL), commodities, short-term Treasury bills (BIL), or funds that profit when major stock indexes fall. It makes those decisions with simple “temperature checks” on recent price behavior: whether prices have risen too fast, fallen too hard, or are trending up or down. It also watches the bond market and the U.S. dollar for clues about whether investors are feeling brave or defensive. A small side sleeve adds consumer spending and healthcare exposure when conditions look calm.
CheckmarkValue prop
Very aggressive, semis-led strategy with hedges. Out-of-sample annualized return ~39% vs SPY ~21%; Calmar ~1.37 shows solid risk-adjusted performance, though max drawdown (~28% vs ~19%) is higher. Potential for outsized gains with risk controls.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
