About

Aggressive, rule-based swing strategy that rides tech/semiconductor uptrends with leveraged ETFs, then quickly hedges, flips inverse, or parks in T‑bills when volatility spikes or trends weaken. Uses RSI, moving averages, and UVXY to switch regimes.
NutHow it works
It uses three simple ideas: trend, momentum, and a volatility thermometer. - Trend: If the market (SPY) is in an uptrend, it prefers growth/tech; if not, it plays defense. - Momentum (RSI): RSI compares recent up vs down days; high = “hot,” low = “washed out.” It buys dips or trims when too hot. - Volatility (UVXY): When fear rises, it adds bonds or flips to inverse ETFs. Core positions: TQQQ/SOXL in calm uptrends; SQQQ/SOXS or T‑bills (BIL/SHY/BSV) in stress.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample annualized return ~61% vs S&P ~22%, with Calmar ~1.42 and Sharpe ~1.15. This strategy rides tech/semis in uptrends and hedges on volatility, aiming for far higher upside than the S&P—accepting higher drawdowns.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
