About

A daily, tactical plan that rides tech/semis in uptrends, buys dips, and fades overheated rips with shorts or volatility. In downtrends it goes defensive with inverse ETFs or short‑term bonds. Signals come from trend (200‑day avg) and a “hot/cold” score (RSI).
NutHow it works
Each day it asks: is the S&P 500 above its 200‑day average (uptrend) or below (downtrend)? Uptrend: ride aggressive tech/semis (TQQQ, TECL, SOXL), buy quick dips; if things look overheated (high “hot/cold” score = RSI), briefly hedge/short (SQQQ) or buy volatility (UVXY). Downtrend: flip to inverse funds or park in short‑term bonds (SHY/BSV).
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: 33.6% annual return vs 21.3% for SPY, Calmar ~1.0. Captures big tech/semis upside in uptrends with hedges in reversals. Higher upside, but accept larger drawdowns than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
