About

A rules-based “Dragon” that balances growth with defense. It rotates among stocks, Treasuries, gold, commodities, the US dollar, and volatility hedges using simple trend, momentum, and “hot/cold” (RSI) checks to seek gains in both calm and stormy markets.
NutHow it works
Splits money across 4 buckets: ~35% trend/volatility, 15% gold, 30% growth, 20% interest‑rate sleeve. Rules use: trend vs 200‑day average (long‑term trend line), RSI (a short‑term “hot/cold” gauge), recent drawdowns, and volatility. It adds hedges (VIX ETFs that rise when fear jumps, US dollar, shorts) when risk is high, and leans into stocks/bonds when trends are healthy.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample, the Dragon strategy beats the S&P on risk-adjusted returns: 25.9% vs 22.4% annualized, max drawdown 11.5% vs 18.8%, Sharpe 1.60 vs 1.41, Calmar 2.25, beta ~0.69.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
