About

A rules-based, “risk-on/risk-off” strategy: panic → T‑bills; uptrend → buy recent dips and hedge euphoria; downtrend → play oversold bounces or switch to inverse ETFs or Treasuries, all guided by a 200‑day trend and simple 0–100 RSI heat scores.
NutHow it works
1) Panic switch: if the “fear gauge” UVXY is running hot (RSI—a 0–100 heat score of recent moves—>70), park in T‑bills (BIL). 2) Trend check: if SPY is above its 200‑day average (a long‑term trendline), it’s “bull”; else “bear.” • Bull: if SPY/QQQ are very hot (RSI≥80) hold VIXM (vol hedge). Otherwise buy the most recently oversold of SPY, QQQ, or their 2x versions (QLD/SSO), sometimes SHY. • Bear: try oversold bounces (TQQQ), or rotate to inverse 3x bears (SQQQ/SPXU) or Treasuries (BSV/TLT) via simple RSI rules. Uses 2x/3x ETFs, so swings can be large.
CheckmarkValue prop
Dynamic regime-switching strategy seeks higher upside: out-of-sample annualized return 33.8% vs SPY’s 21.7%, beta ~0.73, and panic-tbill hedges. Note the out-of-sample max drawdown ~42% vs SPY’s ~19%—requires higher risk tolerance.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
