About

A daily biotech trend rider using 3x bull/bear ETFs. Trades LABU when short-term biotech trend is up, may flip to LABD on overbought wobble, and holds QQQ when no biotech uptrend. Uses very short moving averages and a short RSI. Very high risk.
NutHow it works
It trades the biotech sector using 3x ETFs: LABU (goes up when biotech rises) and LABD (goes up when biotech falls). If biotech’s short-term trend (2-day avg) isn’t above its 10-day avg, it parks in QQQ (big-tech). In uptrends it mostly holds LABU. If price gets very “hot” (RSI, a 0–100 heat gauge, is high), it uses tiny trend checks (2 vs 3-day averages) to flip briefly to LABD or back to LABU. Rebalances daily.
CheckmarkValue prop
Out-of-sample edge: ~75% annualized return with Sharpe ~1.25 and Calmar ~2.63, beating SPY on risk-adjusted terms. Higher drawdown (~28% vs ~19%). For volatility-tolerant investors, biotech-trend alpha offers stronger upside than the S&P 500.

FAQ

A Composer symphony is an automated trading strategy that executes trades based on parameters of your choice. Some symphonies are similar to holding one ETF in normal conditions and rotating to a different ETF when market conditions shift, for example a 5% drop in the S&P 500, while others use complex rules with dozens of triggers. However, complex doesn’t always mean better. A simple, well-structured symphony can be just as effective as an intricate one. Learn more about how symphonies work here.
